 Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be investigated by Spanish authorities over alleged tax fraud.
According to reports, the Spanish authorities are contemplating looking into allegations that the former Manchester United man owes a whopping £13million in unpaid image right taxes between 2011 and 2013.
It was reported that his rival Lionel Messi has been sentenced to 21-months in prison after being involved in tax fraud.
The Barcelona star is unlikely to spend any time in jail as the as Spanish law denotes that a sentence under two years can be served as probation.
Nationgistz.com understands that Ronaldo failed to declare his payments as a result of administrative errors but he is unlikely to face severe punishment from the Tax Agency as he did not commit outright tax fraud.
The Portuguese international tried to sort-out the issue before it escalated as he submitted his 2014 invoices on time.

But the investigation is looking likely as the figure is around £13million.
Sources revealed that anyhow the prosecutors pursue this case, Ronaldo is expected to appear before a judge to submit a statement.
However, if the 2016 Ballon d'Or winner is found guilty, he would only be required to settle-up the outstanding debt and pay a fine.
