According to reports, the Spanish authorities are contemplating looking into allegations that the former Manchester United man owes a whopping £13million in unpaid image right taxes between 2011 and 2013.
It was reported that his rival Lionel Messi has been sentenced to 21-months in prison after being involved in tax fraud.
The Barcelona star is unlikely to spend any time in jail as the as Spanish law denotes that a sentence under two years can be served as probation.
Nationgistz.com understands that Ronaldo failed to declare his payments as a result of administrative errors but he is unlikely to face severe punishment from the Tax Agency as he did not commit outright tax fraud.
The Portuguese international tried to sort-out the issue before it escalated as he submitted his 2014 invoices on time.
But the investigation is looking likely as the figure is around £13million.
Sources revealed that anyhow the prosecutors pursue this case, Ronaldo is expected to appear before a judge to submit a statement.
