Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a separatist organisation led by Nnamdi Kanu, this group was started by Late General Ojuwku Who happens to be one of prominent Nigerian Army and an Igbo Indegene. The group wants a number of states in south-east Nigeria , made up mainly of people from the Igbo ethnic group, to break away from Nigeria and form the independent nation of Biafra . To achieve this, the group is calling for a referendum , stating that they will continue to agitate until the Nigerian government fixes a date for the referendum "to settle the issue of Biafra in a civilised and democratic manner".
However, this group tend to be threathening the Federal government of Nigeria with some of their move, It is this same group that caused the Nigeria civil war of 1967 when they forcefully wants to deviate themselves from the Nigeria government...
So the question is: The (IPOB) Are they a terrorists group? or Are they a peace seeking group?

I believe they are a terrorist group because they obviously don't mind causing chaos in the country all for the govt to satisfy their wants. Even if they really want to break out of nigeria and form their own nation, there are other ways to go about it than violence
ReplyDeleteother ways should probably be by force which will effect them big time if they finally break out. force was once used and it of no avail. Nigeria have what it takes to counter any aggression within his territory. from my view, according to the question: The (IPOB) Are they a terrorists group? or Are they a peace seeking group?
ReplyDeletethe answer is simple... these set of people only common interest and issues like this is what Nigeria government should take serious. these people haven't keep or hurt anyone, no bomb attack, no aggressive nature in fact the government and the northern men kill them the more. they are no way a terrorist group. if they are declare a terrorist group in which the FG already did, they should go back in time, the more the government hurt freedom seeker the more their strength.
